Problem & solution
Ta'aafi is an Arabic-first platform for recovering from addiction and building healthier habits. It grew out of an earlier product called "Reboot," then matured into a full ecosystem that connects a person to their journey and to a supportive community in one place, on mobile and web.
The experience runs on a clear recovery loop: streak and relapse tracking, a dashboard that reflects progress back to the user, motivational content, and on-device screen-time monitoring that blocks risky apps — all with care for privacy and peace of mind.
Around that core sits a carefully moderated community: a forum, groups, challenges and direct messaging, guarded by an AI moderation pipeline — plus a private "Vault" journaling space and a "Ta'aafi Plus" premium tier.

How it was built
Launch
Ta'aafi started from a simple conversation between me and a close friend — a small idea: a clean-day counter to help someone stay steady, one day at a time. A small thing that met a real need. The app launched on iPhone.
Expansion
The app launched on Android, bringing significant growth in the number of users.
Growth
The platform grew to over 386,000 users, with the launch of the Ta'aafi community — forums and fellowships moderated by an AI pipeline built to keep the space safe for those in recovery.
Native experience
A ground-up rebuild of the iOS app for a faster, more stable experience with deeper on-device protection — the current focus of work.
For the first time I found a recovery tool that speaks my language and gets my context. I no longer feel alone in this journey.— عضو في مجتمع تعافي— A Ta'aafi community member
